For a future worth living
You probably feel the same way: With every decision we think about how we can act as sustainably as possible. Our goal is to combine the best skin and hair care for you with a sensible and honest sustainability concept. For us this means: No greenwashing and no approaches that only appear to be ecologically sensible. Instead, an overall concept in which you, as a responsible person, are the focus of a wonderful nature worth preserving. Here you can learn more about topics such as sustainability in ingredients, packaging and shipping.
Conscious consumption and responsibility
For us, you and your needs are the focus. And we know that a healthy environment and responsible use of its natural resources is a central need. But the health of your skin and hair is just as important to us. When we see an unresolvable conflict between these two needs, we always choose your health. We should be honest: Whenever we use resources, we leave traces on the planet. But that's okay if we are aware of it, reduce our footprint as much as possible and give something back to nature in return. For us, sustainability means that we protect them as well as you do if possible. But you always come first.
150 ml becomes 1.5 liters of shampoo
Did you know that conventional shampoos - also in the field of natural cosmetics - consist almost entirely of water? Most contain more than 90 percent H2O. This means that manufacturers produce tons of packaging waste to pack water. And the transport weight is of course much higher. In this way, the conventional shampoos use a multiple of fuel to transport them to the shops or to your home. But water comes out of the tap in excellent quality - so why should you drive it around? Our concentrates are freshly mixed with tap water in the applicator for about five hair washes. The 150ml concentrate becomes 1.5l shampoo. This saves up to 90 percent of the packaging waste and a large part of the transport energy.
We select our ingredients based on what is best for your healthy skin and hair. This means that our approach is automatically sustainable: We are convinced that only natural ingredients are best for you, if available in organic quality or from regional wild harvest. This means that no synthetic, persistent substances or artificial fertilizers get into the groundwater when you use our products. At the same time, we also pay attention to the effectiveness and compatibility of the ingredients so that we can develop ideal products for you and your skin and hair health. Sometimes we have to make decisions and weigh them up - not always that easy. You are now asking yourself which criteria play a role in this? You can learn more about it on this page .
A matter of course
We love animals and would never test any product or ingredient on them. As a supplier from Germany, that would not even be permitted: there has been a comprehensive ban on animal testing in the development of cosmetic products in the European Union since 2013. We also only work with foreign companies that respect animal welfare as much as we do. Most of our products are vegan. If a product is not vegan, we will explain this to you transparently in the product description. Here, too, our central principle applies: Your hair and skin health comes first. For example, we offer brushes made from natural wild boar bristles because, in our experience, there are currently no sensible alternatives. No synthetic brush has the unique properties of this natural product, which of course also comes from German production.
Plastic is often more sustainable than glass
We attach great importance to making our packaging as sustainable as possible. For example, we do not use unnecessary cardboard packaging around the products. When it comes to the actual packaging, we always examine the most sensible approach. For example, our oils need the reliable UV protection of high-quality amber glass, the shampoo concentrates stay fresh thanks to the extra-light bottle made of recycled PET plastic, even without preservatives. So why plastic instead of glass? Quite simply: One-way glass has a significantly poorer energy balance compared to recycled plastic. In other words, to generate the intense heat of over 1,500 degrees needed to produce a glass bottle, manufacturers have to incinerate a whole bunch of plastic bottles – or at least their equivalent in oil or gas. To melt down plastic in recycling, on the other hand, a tenth of this temperature is sufficient. The transport weight is also much lower. PET is therefore only less sustainable if it is disposed of incorrectly.
Climate neutrality and avoidance of waste
Of course, we always ship our products climate-neutrally via DHL GoGreen. Shipping from our shipping partner is CO2-neutral, for example through investments in global climate protection projects or the active avoidance of emissions. We do not use plastic locking mechanisms for the shipping boxes; they consist of 100% recycled fibers and can easily be recycled with paper waste. We also use recycled paper as filling material. This is the best solution for us, because sawdust or wood wool - as other suppliers use them - are no fun for some allergy sufferers. Of course, we also use the smallest possible box for shipping packaging in order to reduce waste.
